Counselling Skills for Pastoral Care (St John’s)
3 - 5 Sept. 2010 and 11 - 13 April 2011
This course will help you develop a Christian understanding of people and equip you to express God's love and care to them in a practical way. It is part of the distance learning Certificate in Christian Studies but is frequently studied for its own sake or as entry to the postgraduate diploma. Listening and counselling skills cannot be taught at a distance, so an integral part of this course is the two short residential periods.
The residential parts of the course include plenary sessions, skills practice and small group work. The distance learning module, which is completed between the times you come to St John's, takes approximately 100/150 hours, and includes written assignments.
