What Englesea Brook Chapel & Museum is About
Englesea Brook is a major Methodist heritage site where visitors can explore the story of Primitive Methodism in the nineteenth century. The success of the museum is based on its emphasis on being a place of contemporary mission and outreach, in which the past acts as a springboard for reflection on life as it is now. Much of our focus is on educational work and we currently have termly contact with approximately 10,000 children. However, the site is also a successful centre for research, adult education and tourism

Schools Development: 2009/10
This year we hope to broaden our offering to school groups. As well as running our established Christmas and Easter programmes Englesea Brook will be home to a range of new educational initiatives which we anticipate will attract more school groups to experience this welcoming church environment. Last year children at Englesea Brook explored Christian attitudes towards the environment, law and order, religious festivals, death and bereavement and much more. We anticipate that by furthering our range of activities we will continue to enjoy an increase in the number of school visits.

Heritage Services
Our 2009 season saw the introduction of monthly Sunday services with a heritage theme. These have proved popular and will, therefore, also be a feature of the next year. Heritage services take place on the last Sunday of each month from March to October at 2.30 p.m.

Special Events
Special events are a regular part of the life of Englesea Brook. These include study days, participation in English Heritage Open Days and the annual open air meeting at Mow Cop (a church community which Englesea Brook continues to enjoy close ties with). Our website includes regularly updated details.
